Poll Watch: Rasmussen New Mexico 2012 Senatorial Survey

Survey of 500 likely voters was conducted February 14, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points.

Inside the numbers:
Wilson leads Heinrich 48% to 42% among male New Mexico voters but trails 47% to 39% among women. The findings are similar in the matchup between Wilson and Balderas.

Both Democrats draw about 70% support from voters in their own party, while Wilson earns 87% of the vote from the state's Republicans. Among voters in the state not affiliated with either major political party, both Democrats hold nearly two-to-one leads over Wilson.

Wilson is viewed Very Favorably by 21% of New Mexico voters and Very Unfavorably by 24%. Heinrich’s reviews are 22% Very Favorable, 20% Very Unfavorable.

Balderas, who was a state legislator prior to serving as state auditor, is the least known of the potential candidates. Twelve percent (12%) view him Very Favorably, while 16% view regard him Very Unfavorably.
