Note: In 2008, John McCain received 50% of the vote in Missouri. In 2004, George W. Bush received 53% of the vote in MO.

How would you rate the job Barack Obama has been doing as president?
  • Strongly approve 27% (27%)
  • Somewhat approve 19% (20%)
  • Somewhat disapprove 7% (9%)
  • Strongly disapprove 46% (43%)
Survey of 500 likely Missouri voters was conducted March 14-15, 2012.  The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points.  Results from the poll conducted November 9, 2011 are in parentheses.
Inside the numbers:
Among voters not affiliated with either of the major parties, Romney leads Obama by 16 points, while Santorum leads the president by 19.

Both GOP hopefuls have double-digit leads on Obama among male voters but barely edge the incumbent among female voters. Married voters favor both Republicans by 20-point-plus margins. Unmarried voters prefer the president by similar spreads.

Romney is viewed favorably by 51% of Missouri voters, Santorum by 52%.
