Survey of 500 likely voters was conducted April 17, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points. Results from the poll conducted March 14-15, 2012 are in square brackets.  Results from the poll conducted November 9, 2011 are in parentheses.
Inside the numbers:
All three GOP contenders continue to lead among male voters in the state. Among female voters, Steelman leads the incumbent by five, while Brunner trails her by five. Akin runs even with McCaskill among women.

Voters not affiliated with either of the major parties prefer the Republicans in every matchup, but Steelman runs strongest among this group.

Most married voters favor the Republicans; the majority of unmarrieds support the Democrat.

McCaskill is viewed Very Favorably by 23% of Missouri voters and Very Unfavorably by 33%.

Thirteen percent (13%) share a Very Favorable opinion of Steelman, while 14% regard her Very Unfavorably. For Akin, Very Favorables are 14%, Very Unfavorables 13%. Brunner is seen Very Favorably by 11% and Very Unfavorably by 13%.

Only six percent (6%) have no opinion of McCaskill, while roughly one-in-four voters don’t know enough about any of her opponents to express an opinion about them.
