Inside the numbers:
As in most states, Romney is ahead of the president among men in Wisconsin but trails among women. Most married women support the Republican; most women who are not married prefer the incumbent.

Obama leads two-to-one among voters under 40. The majority of older votes support Romney.

Both candidates draw strong support from voters in their respective parties.
