Note: Obama holds a 49% to 47% edge over Romney among voters excited about the choice of candidates. Romney leads 48% to 39% among those voting for the lesser of two evils.

Survey of 500 likely voters was conducted June 6, 2012. The margin of error is +/- 4.5 percentage points.

Inside the numbers:

Obama and Romney are virtually tied among both male and female voters in the state.

The president holds a near two-to-one advantage among voters under 40, while Romney leads by double digits among older voters.

Eleven percent (11%) of voters in the state agree with the president on just about everything, while another 33% say they agree with him on most important issues. Similarly, 10% agree with Romney on just about everything, and 36% agree with him on most important issues. However, while 24% say they disagree with Romney on just about everything, 33% say the same about Obama.

Most voters in Colorado (58%) believe the president and Romney disagree on most important issues, and 32% more think they disagree on just about everything.
