    Survey of  1,381 registered voters was conducted September 2, 2012.  The margin of error is +/- 2.9 percentage points.  Results from the poll conducted August 27, 2012 are in parentheses.
    Inside the numbers:
    Before the Republican convention, Obama held a 46% to 43% lead among the 18-29 year olds, a 49% to 44% lead among 30-39 year olds, a 43.6% to 43.3% lead among 40-49 year olds, and a 44.5% to 47.3% deficit among voters above 50 years old.

    Following the convention, Obama’s lead among 18-29 year olds has widened to 56% to 33%, while Romney has overtaken the lead among all the other demographic voting groups, with Romney holding a 51% to 38% lead among 30 to 39 year olds, a 57% to 36% lead among 40 to 49 year olds, and a 46% to 45% lead among likely voters over 50 years old.
